About this event

4:30 - 6:30 PM
Join Newcomers friends and meet new people at this free-of-charge opportunity to be introduced to or re-experience one of the cultural crown jewels of our region. Newcomers will be the guests of the Traverse Symphony Orchestra for the final rehearsal of their September 17 concert at Corson Auditorium on the campus of the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Corson is a beautiful and comfortable venue, with great acoustics and ample and free parking. Even if you have attended a concert or rehearsal of the TSO, this is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Coupons for half price tickets to upcoming concerts will be available.
TSO's dynamic music director Maestro Kevin Rhodes will be conducting this great professional orchestra and guest pianist Claire Huangci will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No 21. Bruckner's Symphony No 4 will also be rehearsed.
Please RSVP by Wednesday, September 13 for this event so that we and the TSO will have an idea of the number attending. You also are welcome to register and bring non-member guests.
Rehearsal will begin at 4:30 PM. There will be a 15 minute break at around 5:30 PM (if you need to leave early for dinner or other engagements-you could slip out). Information about the TSO, including half-off ticket offers for first-time patrons for later in the season will be available. There are several popular and tasty restaurants in the Interlochen area if you'd like to gather with friends afterwards. These include Hofbrau, Bradley's, and Oaky's.
